Dr. David P. MacKay has been practicing optometry in Bedford, New Hampshire since 1995. He is a 1992 graduate, cum laude, from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. MacKay received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987.

Prior to practicing in Bedford, Dr. MacKay was the Chief of Optometry for the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In addition to providing routine eyecare to soldiers and their families, he received vast experience in treating eye injuries, eye infections during morning "sick-call" clinic and by providing emergency room coverage at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Fort Campbell was one of the primary sites for the contact lens aviation program, thus enabling Dr. MacKay to hone his contact lens skills by working with pilots and flight crew.
